Our staff have been teaching SCUBA for over 10 years.  Our background is that of a North Atlantic
Shipwreck Diver and we bring this experiance and training to every class we teach.
Besides hundreds of dives in these cold waters we also have many hundreds more in various
parts of the Caribbean, Canada, California, Hawaii, Truk Lagoon and
every State along the East Coast from Maine through Florida.

Our certification level is that of Instructor Trainer and I hold this level with various diver
certifing agencies.  We are also certified to instruct the handicapped how to SCUBA
dive through he Handcapted Scuba Aassociation.  This is a specialized area of
training that requires an Instructor to be empathetic and patient in the training
of students under their care.

We know you have choices so - What makes us different?

First off -- You will save money.  Our fees are fair (and low).  You won’t have to buy your
mask, snorkel, fins, booties (you’ll save about $150.00 right there).  By doing the
academic portion on-line you won’t have to drive to the dive shop (gas and time savings),
and you are on your schedule and pace – not there’s.

Our goal is developing safe, competent qualified divers not just certified.

One additional difference: We use a competency-based approach to diver training.  This is a student-centered approach.  You’ll see and feel a difference.  Diver training should be based on the way the world’s best divers actually dive.  After our course you will be “the best diver on the boat”.

We promote safe diving.  Dive Florida stands by four principles:

Make it fun - Most people who sign up for scuba diving do so because they want to have fun, not just to learn to dive. Our focus is on discovering how to have fun underwater while learning to dive safely. And isn’t that the way it is supposed to be?.

Make it Through - As mentioned above, We use a competency-based approach to diver training.

Make it Real - Diver training should be based on the way the world’s best divers actually dive, not the way a group of self-appointed experts say that they “should” dive or the fact that they have “always taught it that way.”

Make it Environmentally Responsible - Students internalize what they see and experience during training. We help make sure our example will do everything possible to create safe and environmentally responsible divers. One way we do this is by ending every dive with a slow, controlled ascent and safety stop, and learning skills in a way that minimizes contact with the bottom.

We feel that any individual who possesses the mental and physical abilities to dive and the desire to do so can be taught to dive by a patient, capable Instructor who will work with the person until that person is qualified to dive safely.
